About Schreiner University

Schreiner University is a private liberal arts institution located in Kerrville, which is a city in Kerr County, in the US state of Texas, with more than 22 800 people, living within its limits, at the time of the 2009 census.

The university was established in September, 1923, and was founded by Captain Charles Schreiner, as Schreiner Institute, in 1917. It is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, and offers its students majors in various areas of study, including graduate programs and pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-optometry, pre-veterinary Science, pre-pharmacy, pre-theology and pre-law programs.

Athletics

Schreiner's athletic teams are known as the Mountaineers, and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are maroon, white and gold.
